What is kosher salt? And what is sea salt?

Sea salt has a slightly higher concentration of sodium than table salt does. All sea salt, however, is salt from the ocean. Yes, you heard that right. All sea salt is salt from the ocean. Table salt, which is manufactured at sea, is just table salt with a higher concentration of sodium.

The benefits of table salt are obvious, especially if you have high blood pressure or other medical issues that involve sodium levels. It is good for your skin, hair, and nails, and it is also a great addition to a diabetic diet. You can get table salt in different flavors such as hot and sweet, as well as salty and sour, among others. You can even add it to a pot of pasta to make it more flavorful.

Sea salt has a number of benefits for people who are prone to high blood pressure, however. Because sea salt contains more sodium, it can be more difficult for the kidneys to rid the body of sodium. Sodium intake is important because it keeps our kidneys in good working order and it also prevents the buildup of calcium that may lead to kidney stones. Calcium is an important nutrient for keeping our bones strong. It can prevent osteoporosis, too, but that is another issue entirely.

Sea salt, on the other hand, is great for the environment. If you're going to cook a lot, for example, sea salt will make it easier for your salt and pepper shakers to work properly.
