Himalayan Salt A Useful Alternative to Pink Salt

Himalayan salt is salt mined in the Himalayan region of Pakistan. The salt has a bright blue-green color due to mineral impurity. It's most commonly used as food additive, table salt, and as an alternative material for tableware, food presentation and even decorative lamps, but can also be used as an alternative material for home spa treatments and decorative lighting.

The pink salt is extracted by crushing the granite stones, which are formed by the movement of ice streams on the ice caps in the region. Although they are mined in different parts of the world, the pink salt is mined only in the Himalayas. The salt rocks are also known as "Shiva's rock" because of its resemblance to the symbol of the Hindu goddess of fertility, Shiva.
